New talent given the opportunity to upsell images for higher price points

Tmoodbhe original micro/macro hybrid image library, has showcased two of its most successful microstock photographers on their blog . Both Jan Scherders and Diego Cervo were spotted by the moodboard creative team as having great potential and were contacted regarding submitting macro for the moodboard RF Premium Collection.

Diego Cervo based in Italy turned his passion for photography into a full time career within two years through submitting to microstock agencies and is now building his macro portfolio. Diego says “More and more often it happens that microstock photographers are entering the macrostock market and vice versa. This seems to me to be a natural trend.”

Diego’s success not only comes from his eye for a great picture but also his ability to shoot a variety of topics such as travel, lifestyle and business. The moodboard creative team always appreciates his work on the pre-production of a shoot which is evident in his choice of location, models and styling. The final result is always a selection of well thought out images with strong concepts.

Another moodboarder who has impressed moodboard with his continued improvement is Jan Scherders. Jan mostly shot beauty images until the creative team encouraged him to try shoots on location and more recently lifestyle which was a hugely successful shoot for macro RF. “In this first year of being active as a stock shooter I learned a lot about the business of stock and I now understand beauty is only a small piece of the business. The moodboard creative team helped me in making decisions and now I shoot beauty and lifestyle, indoors and outdoors”

This is a great example of how the microstock world has provided a platform for talented newcomers to get their photographs out there and available to clients. Traditional macro libraries were often quite hard to break into for semi-pro photographers but this new era has seen a wealth of talent emerge from microstock and moodboard is proud to highlight two of its own success stories.
